What The Heck Is A Thunder Road Hemi?

I was sitting next to a Hemi powered purple Dodge pickup, it had a chrome badge that said Thunder Road under the Hemi badge. We were side by side at a red light on an on ramp to I-295. The guy in the Dodge saw me looking at his truck and flipped me the single digit salute. The light turned green and I nailed it to the floor. Mr. Thunder road tried but failed to keep up. I pulled the plug at 80 mph and he was a couple of lengths behind me. He caught up and kept right on going passed me with out even a glance and disapeared on down the road. I think I spoiled his day. What ever the Thunder Road option is, it doesn't seem to have much in the way of power.

I do know one thing for certain. Bruce Springsteen didn't authorize it, lol.

Thunder Road 2003-Present The Thunder Road has unique 20" Wheels and Trim inside and out. Comes in Regular Cab and Quad Cab, and has a unique Thunder Road Badge. The Thunder Road is a trim package for the Hemi Rams.

Rumble Bee - The Rumble Bee edition was mainly a trim package on the Hemi Ram. It was only available on regular cab/short-box pickups and included lower body cladding, a hood scoop, and a specially-trimmed interior. On the rear of the box was a stripe with a "Rumble Bee" picture, meant to be reminiscent of the Super Bee.

So the thunder road version is just a cheap version of the rumble bee..guess if you can't afford the best, for for the 2nd best, and if not the 2nd best, the 3rd best!

You know, It is just fitting. Many of you may not know Skiffers like the moderators do. He is one of the wisest (smart) guys I have ever "met" and fairly conservative. If you guys could see what he posts in the moderator forum you would be amazed. Dude can flat out put thoughts to words. What makes this kill to good is just that. Skiff, prolly would never instigate a race on the streets but he felt he had to defend our "Ricer" trucks. So He did...... (RW). Flip the boss off and it is on like donkey kong. And boy did he put a whoopin on the jackass. I love it. <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/023.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt001' />

There are those, from time to time, that ask for it. Great kill. Now he gets to go back home and search for MOPowAR.

We have a few places where a 4 lane merges back into 2 lanes just past a red light. It's fun to be 1st at the light and watch someone pull out of line, up next to you at the light, and try to beat you off the line. I like to play with them by not running off and leaving them, but staying just far enough in front that they have to slow down to get back behind me. Sometimes I think they are surprised with my little truck and its little 4.0.

I had a Tahoe soccer mom to pull out of line and run up past several going through the light. I wasn't 1st in line, but she flew up beside me, hit the brakes to slow down, and proceeded to move over on me (no signal). I was in my Jeep at the time and didn't back off. Right before she hit my right front fender, she jerked back over and backed off and honked at me. Then she cut in on the car behind me. Not 1/2 a mile up the road, she stopped to turn left and blocked the traffic behind her. As I turned left at the next light, she was still waiting to turn.

LOL - I'm not sure what this had to do with putting words on a post, but you are right about me not instigating a street race. We happened to be the first two vehicles at a stop line that led onto the expressway. The on ramp is two lanes wide 3/4's of a mile long, straight, and enters onto the expressway with two additional lanes, no merging. The expressway traffic is already moving at 70 mph or better. I wasn't looking to race anybody, in fact I was actually admiring his truck; it looked pretty nice. The guy must have taken my looking at his truck in some other way and decided to "put the old guy down". Some guys never learn. Little did he know that 37 years ago I used to drive a drag car every weekend. 1969 Dodge Superbee Sixpack, D/Modified Production NHRA certified drag car. 11.8 second, 130 mph quarters. I used to be a Dodge fan. It still feels good to lay one down now and then! <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/005.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt044' />
