Does the trailer have an electronic braking system?

If so then yes you need the trailer brake module.

I'll let those with more experience what you need..

Its a 25' travel trailer I know we have a brake controller in the suburban so I will probably need one are they hard to install yourself or is it just plugging in a few wires, I can do just about anything else but messing with electrical stuff is not my specialty.....

If you have the trailer brake harness that came with the tow package... it is a straight forward install.. wire up the brake controller to the module, and plug her in!

Harness is usually in glove box. Like they said just hook it up wire to wire to the controller you are going to use and the plug in is under the dash above the emergency brake. Easy to find Check out this link for instruction. http://www.randpcarriages.com/tech/nissanbrakecontrol.html
