Mississippi-mud Trail Ride

We, mississippi-mud, met up in Laurel for a little ride. These trails definitely weren't full size friendly.

We had 4 members show up:

Reserector in his "Flaming Marshmellow"

A Toyota TRD 4X2 with no locker (he did an amazing job to be running an open diff)

A silver Jeep TJ "War Eagle"

My white TJ "GO Dawgs"

It got warm, but not too bad. Mostly dusty.

Skinny Pedal

I tried to bite off more than the others. No go without at least one locker.

The natives.

Lineup.

Lunch!!! At last!!!

War Eagle!

GO Dawgs!

The end of the trail.

But not the end of the dust!

Had a great time!

A few too many bad throws to open receivers and dropped balls when the throw was good. Can't win that way.

Congrats. I thought we played decent on defense, but our passing game just wasn't up to it. I hope Dan Mullen is there a long time to build his team, and I think we will be a great team.

Again, congrats "WAR BEAGLE"

[/quote]Maybe try Iron Mountain/Mormon Emigrant Road from the Hwy 88 side. In winter it is gated and we have to go around to the Hwy 50 side for snow runs. I haven't seen it in the summer, but there should be some side roads and maybe some rocks ops. Or there is always the trail Kyle, (ItalianBoy or similar), posted about up a Tahoe, but that's more of a drive.

My off roading has mostly been at Prairie City, the state off road park, which is near Folsom. It's fun but small, so after a couple of hours it can be boring, (and this time of year ... very dusty). Same with the flat land dirt roads that I've run, (dusty), plus too many Sunday driver types on the weekends.

So the Sierra's is my vote. Not this weekend, but so far open after that. Pick one, and in the mean time I'll ask Kyle and a couple of others for suggestions, and if they want to go. I know PRG has been out in their X around his area, Colfax on I80, and might know of a Titan friendly place. They finally have their new baby home from the hospital now, so I doubt that he would want to go, but I'll ask them them.
