Micro Filters

Well, when I had the TItan in for new brakes the other day, I asked the dealer to take a look at the Micro Filters to make sure they were installed.

The dealer told me that my model does not have filters installed and that if I wanted them installed, it'd take about $150 for them to cut them in.

I looked at him and simply said, "Ok, thanks!"

Well, today, I dropped the glovebox, and sure enough, there's the filter box just like all the pictures show. Opened it up and it did, indeed have the filters installed. They are kind filthy however. So, the whole purpose of this new thread was the ask this question:

When I see the Micro Filters listed the price is around $25 - $30. Is this for one or two?

I bought mine from Napa (# FIL4854) at around $25 for the pair of filters. I would guess that most places are selling the pair rather than for each filter. It's always a good idea to double check before purchasing.

Too bad you had problems with the dealer. I've had good luck with my Nissan dealer. They have been honest so far, but the truck is still very new.

I had a VW diesel a few years ago and had it in for timing belt replacement. The service manager tried to convince me I needed a replacement brake vac booster for the car and I advised the car wasn't equipped with one -- not on that model year. He assured me it was on the car and needed to be replaced, so we walked out to look under the hood for him to "prove it to me". As soon as I opened the hood the service manager realized his mistake and he immediately said he wasn't trying to cheat me. Sure.

Some of us had looked and looked for aftermarket filters with no success. I had even tried Napa. Glad to finally have a number, thanks.

Thanks!!! I was hoping that the price was for the pair. I'll check with Napa and get them on order.

Just got the NAPA cabin filters......

Hey all........just got the NAPA cabin filters...part# is 4854 $23.12=both halves in the box and with tax was $24.74. Thanks uititan for the part# !

They look the same as the NIISAN OEM filters and installed with no problem. I also saved about $10 over buying them from an out of state vendor and having them shipped to me.

Glad this worked out for you. I've been buying more stuff from NAPA recently with good results -- especially since I learned that the manager owns a Galaxy black '04 Titan XE CC!

OEM FILTERS ARE WASHABLE TOO!!

I just checked the NAPA incabin microfilters recently with 6,834 miles on them......they looked to be about 50% clogged with all kinds of debris.

I saved the OEM filters...washed them with success and reinstalled them with success.

I have saved and washed the NAPA filters for the next rotation.

In my opinion 6K miles is too far without inspecting, changing and washing of any filter media in our Titan....and I travel in not too dusty of road conditions.

Every 3-4K I plan to inspect, rotate and wash the filters in the plenum box since the SIZE/AREA of the filters seems to be the limiting factor. <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/003.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt006' />
