pretty cool but I wouldn't want to spend that kind of cash on a diff cover. The oem finned cover is good enough for my needs

[quote name='krh2' post='108237' date='Jul 19 2007, 12:55 PM']Found another option for us. These appear to have temp sending ports built into them. I have always wanted a temp guage on my rear diff...

General info for the covers.

The PML basic cover is $180 and you have to drill for a temp sending unit. This cover also comes with a gasket and all bolts are stainless allen bolts. Dipstick is also magnetized. Holds way more oil than the PML or OEM cover. OK, now officially on my list of wants.. Pretty impressed with it. My tire center mgr. put one of these on his 3500 Silverado, very nice.

OK, just checked out one of these covers up close on a Silverado. I am very impressed! Spoke to the guys at Mag-hytec and they pointed me to a place real close where I can get a temp guage/sender kit. Bout ready to pull the trigger on this. Man this freakin truck costs me.

You might note that the Stillen and PML covers DO NOT have drain plugs. Gotta pull the cover to change fluid, not so with the Mag-Hytec cover.

PML Cover:

Volume: 0.75 quarts over 2005 stock

Stillen Cover

Volume: 0.875 quarts over 2005 stock

Mag-Hytec Cover:

Volume: Holds 4 quarts, which is considerably more than the other two.

Not quite true. The diff plug on the Titan is on the differential itself. So The Mag cover gives you 2 draining options.

Yep..Didn't see this until now. I posted the Stillen covers because I'm sure there are some 04 owners out there (like me) who still have the original basic diff cover and might want a simpler replacement than the Mag-Hytec. Not trying to take anything away from it, but everyone doesn't need it either. I'm not sure on the pricing of the OEM finned cover and bolts, but the Stillen cover for $125 isn't a bad deal when you want to just upgrade capacity.

Well BL, what sold me on this cover was....

1- more capacity

2- can put temp gauge on it

3- 2 drain plugs both magnatized (one on the bottom of the OEM diff and one on the mag cover) double magnets

4- dipstick that is also a magnet and you can check your diff oil level and clean off any particles when you check it.

5- It is cool

6- Reason to wrench on my girl

7- Some member with an 04 cover is gonna benefit from my OEM left over finned cover. <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/003.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt054' />

Any of you folks out there with rear sway bars have to watch out for clearance issues, Hellwig now makes there sway bar with a new shape to clear the diff covers. I personally like the Mag hytec because of the ability to put temp prove in, does anyone have a listing of what temp probes and so forth will work with it and a guage.

The 2006 cover seems to be doing ok for me. I do a lot of towing and going to the strip. I changed my fluid at 15,000 miles and it looked great...and I didn't have really any metal on the plug.

And......quit trying to get me to buy stuff!!!! LoL My wife is going to kill me!
