I went with down and not that hard of a project. Didn't mess with the hinge pins , just took out the glove box. Used a phillips and a 8mm socket and that was that here are some pics.

Use the recycle/recirculate feature on dusty roads and they will last a lot longer...Congratulations!!.. <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/004.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt018' /> <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/001.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt044' />

Good to see you got it figured out. Cant beleive your truck had no filters. Sorry I was not much help I just could not remember how they went in and was swamped here at work. Besides my permanent filters are bi-directional.. <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/002.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt044' /> <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/003.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt018' />
I can't believe they were gone. Truck was getting dusty on the inside and I couldn't figure this out!! You know , I would vacuum and then dusty again. The filters should help this out!!!! LOL Thanks and again the spot comes through!!!!!

I have never replaced one. How often do they need replaced? Course, lately, I don't think I've kept a vehicle long enough to need to replace it.

I have heard every six months. After doing some checking with Napa and other stores, they say 15000 miles or 1 year.

I get 6 months before they need changing and that's using the recycle/recirculate button most of the time... <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/004.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
