OK. Here you go.

Taking pictures took longer than this mod did.

Its a simple easy and fun mod. For 3 dollars, you cant go wrong.

What to buy:

Tools needed: Flathead screwdriver, 5/16 deep socket and wrench with extension, and wire cutter/crimper/strippers thingys.

Step 1: pop the plugs out of the ceiling.

Step 2: Once plugs are removed you can take your 5/16 socket and remove the nut from the back of the light.

Step 2.5: Pull out 3rd brake light. It might be kinda stuck so be careful.

Step 3: Remove tape from harness to reveil 3 wires. Then unplug the harness.

Step 4: Cut the red wire and strip the ends.

Step 4: Put on the new connectors.

Step 5: Put on Blinker and reconnect the harness to the truck.

Step 6: Test your blinking brakelight before re-installing.

Thats it! Youre done.

It took a hell of alot longer to post this than it did to do this mod.

I'd say about 15 minutes max.

Heres mizery Toms vid.

Silly question, but why play with antiquated technology?

With a little soldering knowhow, and a little more patience, you can have a silent brake flasher that will not just flash incessantly, but flash for anywhere between 1 and 10 times then resume normal operation.

the write up on the board and required components are here http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/circ/flashing.htm

As for building and installation... we'll see after I get a titan ;)

Quick version:

about $12.00 worth of parts

a 2"x2.5" "bread board" also known as a project board (still looking into the best way to get the boards printed... I'll probably just do it myself for now.)

Basically you make that board that is in the link above, that is your "flasher relay" if you will. it has 2 pots (potentiometers) on it one adjusts the speed of the flash (or flash duration) and the other how many times it flashes.

Like I said, lemme get a titan first... then when I have the extra time, I'll go ahead and make this mod... and go from there :D

It helps that 20 yr old girl behind you to pay attention to you instead of that cell phone.. Attention getter

I went to my local motorcycle shop and bought a flasher...I cant remember the name brand of it ,but you can wire it up to flash constantly or flash five times then solid brake light..
