OK Last October I bought 2 Kenwood 10" Subs and a Clarion 400 watt amp from Crutchfield.

Well I started to notice what sounds like voice coil seperation in one of my subs. So I emailed crutchfield on Monday morning asking what I needed to do to get this fixed under warranty.

I got this email back on Tuesday Morning:

Hello Stephen,

Thanks for contacting Crutchfield Support.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your Kenwood sub.

We can actually exchange the sub for you under the Kenwood warranty.

If you will provide us with your current address, if it has changed from the original order, we will get the replacement sent our to you.

We will wait for your reply.Regards,

Paul

So I reply and here's what I get that afternoon.

Hello,

I have the new sub shipping out to you today. Just package the blown speaker back up in the same box to send it back to us. I have also emailed you a prepaid UPS shipping label that you can print and tape to the package for free return shipping.

If you have any other questions or need anything please let us know.Thank you,

Conrad

Well when someone is able to get away with a 250% mark-up, customer service is easy. LOL. If that thing had been out of the mfg warranty you would have had the same results you get with almost every truck issue. Good on them for the Rapid follwo up though. And this time try not to boom the Luda so much.

I had a great experience with crutchfield too when I bought my stuff. I thought their prices were pretty good. Here where I live, it's Best Buy or Bust, and crutchfield blew them away with prices and selection.

They used the Kenwood Warranty to replace it.... <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/016.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt016' />

I am trying to sneak around so the bad things in the dark can't find me. Quit throwing the lights on me. LOL

I am hunting through the forums for someone looking to get rid of some subs. Ever watching.

I'm certain that Crutchfield offers great customer service but, as DevilDawg attested to, with the markup that Crutchfield commands, they should be able to offer superior service given their pricing structure.

I am much more inclined to be impressed with companies such as http://www.newegg.com/ that not only offers superior customer service, but excels at offering exceptional and competitive prices as well. I am certain that acquiring and maintaining this kind of marketing niche is much more challenging than that of Crutchfield's.

I've have never purchased anything from Crutchfield and probably never will, giving their high prices when I have done prices comparisons. Also, Newegg seems to focus more on computer related electronics whereas Crutchfield appears to focus more on the consumer electronics and audio and I purchase much more of the former than the latter.

Newegg rocks! <img src='http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/023.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smt011' />
