Well this was the annual Fall road-work day for me and my Titan and 100 year old rebuilt road roller/packer listed on the bottom of my signature......
Had 16.5 tons of "ABCM Crusher Run" or just plain ol...."Road Bond" delivered and spread on my steep driveway this morning. Drove up and down about 6 times......had the E-lok on for the up/down runs and turned it off at the top and bottom turn around areas...12 times on/off..no problems with E-lock for my Titan!!
The E-lock flashes until you move forward slighthly......and the same with turning it off.....it flashes but goes off in a second with a little forward movement.
I totally dismantled the road roller/packer when I got it ( was a gift laying in a field )....it was in sad shape and all the bolts and bearings were shot/loose.
The 6 antique wheels rotate on a solid 3" steel shaft. I replaced all the bolts and had some custom large "end bearings with grease fittings" fabricated/added.
I had the frame on top fabricated/added to hold a water tank. I'm planning on adding the water tank to spread water on the road in front of the roller/packer to wet the ground/road-bond which makes packing/rolling much more effective verses rolling/packing on a dry surface.
It had a long steel tongue with a hole in it to "hitch-up" to but was very hard to align the hole to a tow ball mount and the ball had to be removed from the mount for the bolt to pass through..........so I had the custom hitch assembly fabricated/added also.
I estimate the roller/packer weighs about 4,000 lbs....the water tankfull of water will add more weight increasing the effectiveness of packing/rolling the road.
I am very impressed at how my Titan pulls the roller up the steep driveway..:smt003 ..I left the tires set to the standard 36 PSI while I towed and they never slippped once. I can tow up and down the steep driveway with or without the E-Lock engaged.....no difference....no slipping...my Titan just loves a little pull anytime!! It's really fun to do-it the right way. :smt023 :smt003

I "prefer" to do this once in the fall and once in the spring. This is the first time I re-surfaced the driveway since before last years two hurricanes that caused 18 & 22" of rain each.
If I didn't have such a regiment about doing what I think is "proper maintenance" the road would have been "washed-out" for sure....but since I keep it "tight" and drive easy...4x4 low and in first gear to "engine-brake" downhill and 4x4 hi for driving uphill the cost isn't bad.....this mornings delivery was 16.70 tons of "ABC Crusher Run".....@ $10.65/ton= $177.86 delivered and spread is $65.....Total was $242.86 for the ABC delivered...I think this is very affordable. I put about $1,000 into the cost so far to rebuild the "roller/packer"......It looks like it will last another 100 years so there must be a pay-back somewhere down the road right?? :smt003
Since I'm my own "power company" and "water company".....I might as well be my own "road-repair company"....:smt001 Thanks to my Titan!!

My total gravel road length is about 1/2 mile.
Here's some more pics.......how I manually pack small areas....
with a 10 x 10" hand "Tamper".....when this broke which is really strange...I almost put the broken end through my arm!!!!!!
