Question... For those with or have had cracked windshields... Did you have a bug guard on the hood? I'm just wondering if the thing works or not..

My wife's 03' Eddie B expedition doesnt have one and her windshield is crack free. I have one and I've got multiple cracks and chips.

Or it could be that our windshields just suck and I just wasted 5 minutes...lol

Ive had one since the first week I had her. Windsheild has had many dings, replaced once. I think it protects the hood more than anything. Plus it just looks good IMO... :smt002

Almost 100K with the bug-gut-rock guard on and still have the same windshield. We have a lot of quarry trucks around here and I do not follow close behind them.

I say YES it works!.....http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/default/004.gif

Solar module glass is rated at up to 1" hail at 50-60 MPH......I drive 58 MPH...maybe after 60 MPH all bets are off no matter what size rock hits the glass?http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/default/001.gif

I have seen a few bugs like butterflies get redirected over the roof, but, it does keep the bugs from eating through the paint in the hood after they strike.
And, they won't have the guts to try again,

lol........well put. I've also seen many birds do a swoop up over the roof from the hood which makes me think the deflector works well.....http://www.titanspot.com/Titan/public/style_emoticons/default/004.gif

Oh yah, new windshields? It doesn't deflect rocks kicked up by other vehicles either!

Are we talking the bug deflector (deflects air/bugs) or the hood protector(kinda like the vinyl bra)? I was going to add a thread asking who all had bug deflectors and if you like them. I want to get one, but the guys at work said "they're for old men". haha. I used to have a bug deflector on my F150 back in the day---best money spent!!! I didn't have to clean near as many bug guts on the windshield.

What brand of deflectors does everyone have?

Weathertech. A little more expensive, but I have been happy with their products.

I did not have one on my 06 till I replace 2 windshields. I put on on & got one chip after that. I have had one on my 2010 since day one & no chips or cracks. Knock on wood.
