2011 Nissan Titan

An all-new Titan based on the Ram 1500 was supposed to come for 2011, but, alas, that didn't happen. Instead, the biggest change for the half-ton 2011 Titan is all-new model names. The entry-level XE, middle-of-the-road SE and upscale LE trims have been renamed S, SV and SL, respectively. The PRO-4X off-road identifier is unchanged.

Other revisions include new “4x4” tailgate badges added to all four-wheel-drive Titans and standard captain’s chairs on the SL model.

Two configurations are available: King Cab and crew-cab body styles with a choice of two-wheel or four-wheel drive, two wheelbases (138.9 inches and 159.5 inches) and three bed lengths.

The only engine available for the Titan is a 5.6-liter V-8 rated at 317 horsepower and 385 pounds-feet of torque and paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Flex-fuel compatibility is optional, so the 5.6-liter can run on E85 ethanol (85 percent ethanol, 15 percent gasoline).

The Titan can tow up to 9,500 pounds for King Cab and 9,400 pounds for crew cab.

The 2011 Nissan Titan is scheduled to go on sale in August 2010, and we're looking forward to an all-new Titan by 2014.

2011 Nissan Frontier

Like its full-sized big brother, the 2011 Frontier also receives the same all-new model names. The entry-level XE, middle-of-the-road SE and high-line LE trim packages have been renamed S, SV and SL, respectively. The PRO-4X off-road package identifier is unchanged.

Other changes include the elimination of a six-speed manual transmission for SL King Cab and SV crew-cab long-wheelbase models and the addition of a six-speed manual for S and PRO-4X crew-cab short-wheelbase trucks. The SV Frontier can be optioned with a Premium Utility Package, and the PRO-4X can be upgraded with an optional Luxury Package. A vehicle immobilizer and bed rail caps are standard on SV, PRO-4X and SL models. The four-cylinder SV Frontier receives upgraded seat fabric to match the SV V-6 model. Navy Blue exterior paint is available on Frontier SV pickups, and child-safety-seat Latch anchors have been added to all King Cab rear seats, along with a top tether child restraint added to the King Cab driver-side rear seat.
Frontier is offered in both King Cab and crew-cab body styles and in 4x2 and 4x4 driveline configurations. A regular cab Frontier is not available.

Engine choices include a standard, fuel-efficient 152-horsepower, 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine with 171 pounds-feet of torque (King Cab only) or a powerful 4.0-liter V-6 rated at 261 hp and 281 pounds-feet of torque.

The Frontier can tow up to 6,500 pounds.

The 2011 Nissan Frontier V-6 is scheduled to go on sale in September 2010, followed by Frontier four-cylinder models one month later.

Glad to hear our Titan lives on. I think the styling was ahead of it's times so I hope it looks about the same. I suppose the pricing has gone up another 3% or so.

If nissan takes our advice from the texas titan rally then expect some changes in the near future.

Hear Hear... I felt when we got away from it for a while that they did have a large interest in everything we had to say. They are REALLY focused on the Utili-Trac as a selling point. WHile I can understand it, it should be a side benefit, and not the Major feature they use. I got the gist that the 2014 will look a Whole Lot different, and we might get the one thing a lot of us want. "D"

A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life."

It must be a blessing to some that stupidity isn't painful...
